UNITY WOMEN OF WISDOM...2011 ScheduleUnless otherwise noted, these events are held at the church and you should bring a dish to share.UWOW is on Summer Break. Stay tuned for fun meetings and events later in the year. Please let us know if you would like to be notified about UWOWs events and news.   Past UWOW Fun Saturday, June 27, 2009: UWOW Meeting/Potluck Pictures and Poetry with Sue and Randi. Saturday, July 25, 2009 The UWOW will be meeting at Nancy's workshop in Windsor where we will learn how to make mosaic stepping stones. The main project will be completed on Saturday and then step two, grouting the stones, will be done after church on Sunday. There will be a sign up sheet, a supply list, and driving directions on the bookstore table. If the weather is too hot (85 degrees or above) there will be an alternate plan! Saturday, August 2009To Be Rescheduled: Creating a Spiritual Mandala Saturday, September 26 & Saturday, October 24, 2009 During the UWOW September 26th meeting we will be pairing up and applying the plaster bandages to each other's faces. This takes about 45 minutes. The masks will need to dry well; therefore, we will finish the masks in October. During the UWOW October 24th meeting we will decorate our masks in any manner we choose. It would be fun to bring our masks to church on Sundy, October 25th so folks can see what we do in UWOW. Should be a fun time AND we will have plenty of time for a potluck before starting! Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, 11am-1:30pm: UWOW Zodiac Bash with Rev. Kathy Join us as we reconvene our Unity Women of Wisdom Group with a potluck lunch and some fun with the stars. Rev. Kathy has been a professional astrologer for over 40 years. She will guide us as we test our knowledge of sun signs and the planets and have light-hearted gathering. (No meeting in January) Saturday, Mar. 27, 2010, 11am-1:00pm: "The Magnitude of Gratitude” by Joye & Sue This Unity Women of Wisdom event is a fun social time and a mini workshop all in one! The topic is on the development and expression of gratitude in our daily lives. The intention is to support the evolution of each participant’s own process of gratitude through individual and group exercises. Bring a dish to share and a journal or something you would like to write on. Saturday, Apr. 24 2010, 11am-1:00pm: Creating a Spiritual Mandala with Jeannette & Marlene Come join us to learn about and create your own spiritual mandala. Please bring photos, magazine pictures, and any embellishments that you would like to create with. Paper circles, pens, markers, and oil pastels are provided; or you may choose to bring your own drawing materials. Definition of mandala: Any of various ritualistic geometric designs symbolic of the universe, used in Hinduism and Buddhism as an aid to meditation. May's event was postponed to June. No meeting this month. Saturday, August 28 2010, 11am-1:00pm: Summer Picnic! The 2010 Summer Picnic will be held at the Riverfront Park in Healdsburg (closer to Windsor). 7821 Eastside Rd, Healdsburg, CA 95448 Make sure to bring your favorite potluck dish to share! Saturday, September 25, 2010, 11am-1:00pm Origami with Randi. Come transform some paper with us! Saturday, October 23, 2010, 11am-1:00pm Rev. Alyzsa Van Til is coming to share a wonderful workshop with us on “The Divine Feminine”. We will look at the ancient history and some of the goddesses. Please also bring your favorite dish to share. November Meeting postponed Saturday, December 11, 2010, 11am-1:00pm Note: Date change due to holidays. Cookies, Milk, & Metaphysics! We will begin with a potluck lunch, followed by a cookie exchange. Please bring your recipes to share. If you prefer, you can also donate your cookies for the Church Christmas Party the very next day. Following lunch, Rev Kathy will lead us through the metaphysics of Christmas and facilitate a process of sharing and support. All women are welcome! Please join us for this powerful time of bonding with each other. Saturday, January 22, 2011, 11am-1:00pm In January the meeting will be hosted by Jean Mather to discuss the book Why Is This Happening To Me...AGAIN?!...and What You Can Do About It! by Dr. Michael Ryce. You are asked to bring a baby photo of you or any baby picture. Saturday, February 26, 2011, 11am-1:00pm "The Wonder & Wisdom of Childhood Books," hosted by Cindy Jacobs. What was your favorite book (or books) as a child? Come for a lively discussion about our treasured childhood books and their influence on our lives. Saturday, March 26, 2011, 11am-1:00pm The March meeting will be hosted by Elizabeth Cupp, PhD. She will share amazing information about Aura-Soma Color Therapy. This exciting color system uses dynamic, living energies of nature to assist us in awakening enthusiasm for life. Bring a dish to share. Saturday, April 23, 2011, 11am-1:00pm Rev. Kathy will lead this meeting. The theme will be “New Beginnings” and there will be an opportunity to help with Easter flowers. Bring a dish to share. Saturday, May 28, 2011, 11am-2:00pm Make collages with Rev. Alyzsa VanTil! Please note the longer time frame. More details to follow. As always, please bring a dish to share. |
